PREFACE This
book was not written for the critic; nor is there any effort to present an
exhaustive treatise of the subject herein set forth. The desire to present in a
permanent form the convictions of the writer touching this subject, in the hope
that they may help some hungry heart even after the writer has gone to his
reward; and the burning desire to help hungry souls into the blessed
experience of entire sanctification, is the only, and we trust, sufficient
excuse for the publishing of this volume. The writer has never assumed the role
of an author, and begs to say that much of the matter herein presented has been
written hurriedly amid the discharge of pressing pastoral duties for publication
in an excellent holiness journal, “The Nazarene Messenger,” of The book is sent forth with the prayer that hungry hearts, longing for a complete deliverance from sin, may be enabled to obtain and realize the grace of entire sanctification as a second blessing, and so, not only know the doctrine, but the experience itself. Amen. That
the blessing of God may come upon every reader and that God may be glorified in
the sanctification of many souls, is the earnest wish and prayer of the writer. C.
